Smoketree Pool is accepting applications for Jr. Lifeguards!

Smoketree Pool staff will host a series of 4 weekly sessions for kids that are interested in learning about the requirements to be a lifeguard. They will be working with the pool manager and a lifeguard on Wednesdays from 5-6pm in the game pool. Open to members aged 10-14. Anyone under the age of 12 must have a parent present at all times. Participants will participate in a variety of activities both in and out of the pool to gain knowledge on the role of a lifeguard. Please note, participants will not hold any type of certification upon completion, but will hopefully be interested in joining our crew once they are eligible (age 15)! Kids are welcome to sign up even if they are not able to attend every session. 

• June 19: Development of swimming skills & endurance

• June 26: Victim Recognition

• July 10: First Aid/CPR/AED

• July 17: Water Rescue Skills

Participants will have the opportunity to sign up to shadow a lifeguard on duty the week of July 22nd. Due to flexible scheduling, we will not be able to guarantee which lifeguard will be on duty each day. 

Plan to wear a bathing suit and bring a towel or anything you may need to swim (goggles, etc).
